Dickies
Work Wear
Williamson-Dickie
since beginning in the shadows of former leaders in the workwear
industry has subsequently transformed itself into the largest
work wear manufacturer in the world. You can find Dickies
in all 50 states and produces work wear stemming from work
pants, shirts, and denim jeans not to forget women's work
wear. Since it’s inception in 1922, it has been their
mission to insurer quality, durability, and pride through
every piece of Dickies workwear.
C.N.
Williamson and E.E. "Colonel" Dickie began
their business careers in Bryan, Texas in 1918, establishing
what would be called the U.S. Overall Company. Then, in 1922,
C. Don Williamson joined with his father and cousin
to buy 100% of the overall company and renamed it Williamson-Dickie
Manuf. Co.
The only thing that prompted any significant slowing of Williamson-Dickie
profit would be the Great Depression, during World
War II they were commissioned by the US governement
to produce millions of uniforms for the nation's armed forces.
After the war they would go back to their civilian production
and focus on expansion, and creating more facilities to increase
productivity and profit while not diminishing quality, throughout
the United States. In the late 50's, Williamson-Dickie became
an international company by expanding and appealing to the
western European and middle eastern markets.
Williamson-Dickie
has since become the number one manufacturer of work apparel
worldwide. Dickies although worldwide is not contained to
only Europe and the Middle East they also have established
relations with companies and civilians alike in countries
such as South Africa, Australia, Russia, Chile, Japan, Iceland,
Canada, and Mexico.
